Product Description

The Salomon MTN Tour binding is designed for ski mountaineers who want a reliable interface between boot and ski during both ascents and descents. It’s built to handle backcountry touring, giving you the freedom to climb uphill with a free heel and lock in for secure downhill performance.

Weighing in at 397 grams per unit, the MTN Tour keeps things light so you spend less energy on the climb. A pair of brakes comes standard, helping you avoid runaway skis during transitions or when you need to stow your gear. The built-in riser system offers three height settings—0, 7 and 13 degrees—so you can ease the strain on your calves when the slope steepens. It also accepts Dynafit-style crampons, giving you more options for icy approaches or mixed-snow terrain.

Risers are small heel lifts that reduce the angle between your shin and the slope, making steep uphill travel more comfortable. Having three settings means you can fine-tune that angle to match the grade you’re climbing. Dynafit compatibility means you can clip in crampons designed for a wide range of boots and bindings, boosting traction when you encounter hardpack or wind-blown snow.
