    Running, trailrunning or alpine running

Running or trailrunning, what's the difference? Trailrunning is a form of running that many runners have probably done without knowing it. Trailrunning is running away from the paved road. This can be on trails, through mud, right through the forest or through the mountains up to the rough and high peaks. So basically, any run in the terrain is a trail run. For many runners, the feeling that you are trail running will only start when you notice that you are falling short on your normal running shoes. This may be because of slippage in your stride, the lack of stability and firmness of the shoe or both. Alpine running is done in the mountains and specifically in the higher altitudes, where the terrain is very rocky.
