The Atomic Backland Summit 9 LSH is a ski touring binding built for light-and-fast mountain travel. It’s designed to connect your boots to your skis for both uphill skinning and confident downhill runs, with a focus on speed-oriented backcountry routes.

At just 315 grams per binding, the Backland Summit 9 LSH helps keep your pack weight to a minimum on long approaches. It comes with a ski brake included, so you don’t need to carry or buy additional brake components, and the speed classification means it’s tuned for quick transitions and responsive handling when you flip from climb to descent.

The binding features a DIN release range of 4–9, which sets the force required to release your boot in a fall. A wider DIN range accommodates lighter skiers as well as those carrying extra gear, balancing the need for secure retention on technical downhill sections with reliable release to reduce injury risk.

The binding features a Release Value Adjustment that offers release values up to 9 for trustworthy operation, superior safety, and performance. The AutoFlex System features a spring in the heel mechanism that automatically provides 5mm of travel between the toe and heel during the arc of a turn. The result is an easy-to-use binding that provides elasticity to support the natural ski flex and further enhance safety, absorption, and performance. The easy Step-in Aid guides the boot perfectly into position for trouble-free alignment. A Climbing Aid adjusts to three stages (0°, 7° or 13°) with a simple flick of ski pole. The Alu/PA Pin Toe and Heel uses a high-performance PA material that’s reinforced with fiberglass to keep the binding lightweight for climbing yet strong and reliable for the down. This brakeless model uses a quick-release leash for safety retention.
