Wechsel Intrepid 4

The Wechsel Intrepid 4 is a four-person lightweight tunnel tent designed for backpackers and small groups who value internal space without hauling extra weight. It’s built to serve as a reliable, comfortable shelter on multi-day trips where pack size and ease of setup matter most.

Its 68D polyester ripstop outer resists small tears while the breathable 70D inner tent helps reduce condensation, and the 75D polyester floor with a PU coating adds extra water resistance on damp ground. The tunnel shape combined with aluminium 7001 T6 poles creates a stable layout, offering 233 cm of width, 415 cm of depth and a 140 cm peak height—enough room to sit up inside and stow gear in the vestibule. When it’s time to move on, the tent packs into a 53 x 23 cm stuffsac, and you’ll find lightweight aluminium stakes and guylines included for a complete setup.

In tent fabrics, the denier (D) rating refers to the thickness of the yarn: higher numbers usually mean tougher material. The PU coating adds a protective layer that helps shed water. The aluminium poles use a 7001 T6 alloy, prized for its strong yet lightweight nature and resistance to corrosion, so the tent stays rigid without weighing you down.
