The Salomon S/Force 9 Testski is designed for all-mountain riders looking to put new skis through their paces. As a test ski, it offers a versatile platform to explore a range of terrain, from groomed slopes to varied snow conditions, while giving you a clear feel for its performance characteristics.

With a sidecut of 127/80/110 at 170 cm and a 16 m radius, the S/Force 9 blends stability and agility: it holds its line at speed yet still carves medium-radius turns with control. The included Z12 GW binding adds compatibility with both standard alpine and GripWalk soles, making transitions between gear straightforward. At 2 185 g per ski, it strikes a balance—substantial enough for a planted feel without becoming cumbersome during longer sessions.

The 16 m radius refers to the arc the ski naturally follows when laid on edge, so a smaller number yields quicker turns while a larger one smooths out the ride. The sidecut dimensions—widest at the tip, narrowest at the waist, then flaring out again at the tail—help initiate and release turns efficiently. Together, these specs define how the ski behaves underfoot, giving you predictable handling whether you’re tracing groomers or venturing off piste.
