The Robens Sprinter 2 LW is a two-person ultralight tunnel tent designed for backpackers and hikers who want a reliable shelter with minimal weight. It offers a straightforward setup and just enough room for two sleepers and their gear, striking a balance between comfort and packability.
Weighing in at 1.9 kg and packing down to 48 × 16 cm, the Sprinter 2 LW slips easily into any backpack. The outer tent is crafted from Hydrotex Nylon RS, a 20D ripstop fabric that keeps weight low while resisting tears, and the inner uses fine mesh to boost airflow and cut down condensation. Inside, the groundsheet’s PU-coated 20D ripstop nylon stands up to damp ground, and the tunnel design gives you a 140 cm-wide sleeping area plus a vestibule for gear stowage. You’ll find poles, guylines, pegs and even a repair kit included, so you have what you need to pitch—or fix—a shelter in the field.
“20D” refers to the denier, or thickness, of the nylon yarn—lower numbers mean lighter fabric, while the ripstop weave helps prevent small tears from spreading. A “380T” thread count indicates how many threads are woven into each square inch, giving the fabric greater strength. The PU coating is a thin layer of polyurethane that adds water resistance to the groundsheet. The poles are made from anodized #7001 aluminum, a lightweight alloy that holds its shape under wind and resists corrosion.
