The Skyrocket III Dome from Jack Wolfskin is a three-person dome tent designed for campers who want a balance between lightweight convenience and reliable shelter. It fits into the midweight category, making it suitable for longer trips where sturdiness counts without adding too much bulk to your pack.
Made mainly from recycled polyester, the Skyrocket III Dome combines environmental consideration with practical design. Its dome shape provides stable shelter in changing weather, while the included roll-up stuffsack, repair kit, pegs and guylines mean you have what you need to set up camp right away. At just over three kilograms, it sits in that sweet spot where you still feel the tent’s presence but don’t mind carrying it on a day hike or a weekend jaunt.
To give you an idea of what’s under the fabric, manufacturers talk in “Denier” (D), a measure of yarn thickness: here you’ll find a midweight 60–75D polyester shell, a 68D fabric for the inner tent that promotes airflow, and a tougher 150D groundsheet fabric that stands up to rough ground. Higher Denier numbers mean thicker, more tear-resistant fibers, so you get a bit more durability on the floor where it’s needed most.

Jack Wolfskin says about the Skyrocket III Dome
One of the best things about backpacking trips is finding the perfect spot to camp for the night. The SKYROCKET III DOME sleeps three people in comfort. Made predominantly from recycled materials, this dome tent is light enough to carry in your pack and very easy to pitch.
The tent also scores top marks for ventilation. The innovative ZIP VENT door and the two openings in the roof area create a chimney effect. This promotes effective air circulation inside the tent.
The tent's dome design means it remains stable even on rocky ground. In strong wind or rain, the guylines can be used to improve the tent's stability. Six internal storage pockets and a removable gear loft provide plenty of room to stash small items of kit.
