The Exped LuxeMat LXW is a well-padded sleeping mat designed for solo campers who value warmth and comfort on colder nights. With its generous 10 cm thickness, it provides a soft layer between you and the ground, helping you settle in more comfortably after a long day outdoors.

Built with a 2D-sandwich construction, the LuxeMat LXW pairs a ripstop polyester top (certified Oeko-Tex 100 and treated without PFC-based DWR) with natural wool insulation. The wool fill adds loft and breathability, while the ripstop fabric stands up to rough tent floors or rocky campsites. When packed down to its 79 × 25 cm size, it still offers substantial cushioning without taking up your entire pack space.

Behind the scenes, the LuxeMat LXW carries an R-value of 7.2, which measures its resistance to heat flow: the higher the number, the better the insulation. An R-value above 7 is typically suited for winter or high-altitude use, helping to keep body heat from escaping into the cold ground. The DWR-free finish means the surface still sheds light moisture but without relying on fluorinated chemicals, reducing environmental impact.

The unique wool-insulated, organic cotton tricot topper is exceptionally comfortable. It affords superior moisture management due to the inherent moisture-regulating properties of wool and cotton. The wool is certified to the highest animal welfare standard. The 3D construction and thickness of 10 cm provide the best sleeping comfort. The two flat valves facilitate inflation as well as deflation.

Practical side zippers allow gap-free coupling of one or more mats for sociable sleeping and can transform the LuxeMat into a super-insulated couch for use in the basecamp or van. Smaller items can be stored in the pockets on the sides.

LuxeMat's ripstop shell increases durability and longevity, a core tenet of EXPED's sustainable design philosophy. The core-cover design allows the mat cover to be machine washed. Included is a mini pump and our Sidewinder Bag for quick and easy packing.
